5/7 - Videos & making baby food

If I'm lucky, I'll get to post a video but I've been trying to do that for a while and it hasn't worked. The videos worked. The one below Brad took a few days ago. It's Aiden pushing his hippo and holding onto a pack of gum. He's getting so good that he only needs one hand to hold on to walk with.

The video below is Aiden engaging in his favorite new activity: flushing the toilet. He's pretty proud of himself that he learned how to do this.
My friend Jessica inspired me to make baby food so I ordered some stuff and made some yesterday for the first time. I made carrots and green beans. The carrots turned out really yummy and I also froze some diced carrots that Aiden can start eating as finger foods since he wants to feed himself now. The green beans turned out okay but I think I'll try them one more time and then just continue to buy them. They have a really rough texture and Aiden seemed to worked a lot more to eat them tonight than he would like to work at. Overall, it was easy and I'm glad I tried it. I think we'll save a ton of money on the second baby. I am going to try sweet potatoes this weekend. Below is a picture from last night. Aiden was playing in his toy chest and dug so far in it that he feet were coming off the ground. We just let him destroy the place at night right now.

The picture below was also taken last night before I put Aiden to bed. He's so cute and we have totally let him take over the living room. It's just easier that way and very practical for us right now.

I'm exhausted and am going to bed soon. Brad is sick and I am finally starting to feel better after 2 weeks of being sick. I have a sore on the roof of my mouth so I can only eat soft foods right now. It's been raining all week and I am so ready for some nice (non-rainy) weather.

5/4- Aiden is graduating!

Aiden had a rough week last week while eating dinner. He protested eating baby food and only wanted to feed himself. We went through almost every food in the fridge. He finally had some puffs and a piece of bread with no crust. I was so frustrated. Brad finally figured out the trick and it's been working for the past couple days. He has to have 2-4 spoonfuls of baby food and then he gets 2 piece of food on his tray that he can feed himself. This is a nice balance and I haven't thrown food at Aiden since last week!

Today was Aiden's last morning of breastfeeding. It was a little sad for me but I know I have plenty of feeding to do with another baby on the way. We've been combining 2.5 oz of breastmilk and 2.5 oz of whole milk for Aiden's bottles for the last few weeks and lately he has been throwing up. To make a long story short, I figured it out yesterday. He doesn't like the breastmilk anymore!! Shocking since he drinks from me but he does fine if he has whole milk only bottles.

The picture above is Aiden playing with his Hess truck. It's his favorite and he has figured out the buttons that make the lights turn, the noises, and the truck to raise up. This is his favorite truck and sometimes he gets so aggrivated with it he starts to cry and we have to take him somewhere else to play with something else.

Aiden also got his 6th tooth the other day. He has four in a row up top and two on the bottom. He also graduated from his duck bathtub to the real bathtub tonight. I tried to post a video but my computer isn't letting me do that anymore. The picture above is from his first big boy bath tonight.

I need to get to bed. Until Wednesday...

5/2 - Aiden is 11 months

It's been a hectic few days. I'm still sick and actually get worse again. I've already done a z-pack of antibiotics and am only a tiny bit better. Hopefully things will get better soon. I took the picture above today when I got off the phone with my mom. Aiden was actually kinda smiling.
Yesterday Brad had a double header softball game (with the church league). He plays shortstop and does a great job. Aiden and I watched most of the games yesterday. This is our friend Arin and her new daughter Grace. Arin adopted Grace about a month ago. Aiden loves staring at baby Grace. The boys lost both games yesterday but they are doing much better and improving every game.

This picture was taken about a week ago and I have may already posted it. It's Aiden playing with his Santa music toy. He loves this thing. When he pushes a button between the drums, Santa starts drumming Christmas carols.

The picture above is Aiden raiding the kitchen for his goldfish. This is one of the few drawers he can still open and he some toys in there and his goldfish that he gets at lunch.
I had to work on Thur, Fri, and Sat so am worn out. We've had a busy weekend and are going to take it easy today. I've been trying to post a video and it won't work so I quit for the time being.
