3/30 - Aiden crawling on all 4's

Last night Brad (and Aiden) rotated my roller blade wheels. Aiden just wanted to steal Brad's tools and put the wheels in his mouth.

Aiden has crawled on all 4's a few times but just for a few seconds. He was crawling from the kitchen to the living room and I managed to get some of it on video. He was actually crawling to me in the living room because I have him trained to crawl to me when it's milk time and to the dining room when it's high chair eating time. It's quite nice. Today we went for a roller blade and had fun. Bronco enjoyed it but so did Aiden because he likes the wind in his face.

The video below is one that I took today because normally Aiden reserves this kind of laughing for Brad. We were having fun this afternoon just goofing around in the living room. He loves to be flipped upside down.

I actually made a decent dinner tonight since I don't cook on Tues and Thur nights. I am stuffed right now. Brad worked downstairs on the doggie enclosure because apparently Twix has been having night escapes outside ... little booger. Who knows how long she's been getting out and wondering around. Tomorrow Aiden goes to stay with Arin, his godmother, during the day. The had a great time last Thur and Aiden was taking about 2 hr naps for her. His tooth still hasn't popped through yet but it's getting ready too. I can't believe he is almost 10 months old; time has really flown but I love that he can do more stuff. I plan to go the breastfeeding group on Wed morning to see how much he weighs and how much milk he is drinking.

3/28 - Family Friday

Brad came home at 4:30 on Monday and we went for a family walk. Aiden didn't feel like napping in the afternoon so he was exhausted. He fell asleep at the end of the nap but I have a rule that he can't sleep past 5pm because then he won't go to bed at 7. He was totally knocked out. We have a funny video but it wouldn't load today.
The picture above is from Thursday. Aunt Pat sent an Easter Box and Aiden loves the book inside. He wasn't sure what to think of the musical bunny that moved. Thanks Aunt Pat. I don't cook on Tues or Thur because I get just in time to feed Aiden. Brad had to work a little late although not as late as we thought. He had duty Thur and has it until Monday morning. Needless to say, we had chicken nuggets and mixed veggies for dinner. Brad was hanging out with Aiden while I was 'cooking' and he was telling Aiden how yummy chicken nuggest can be. That's Aiden staring into the oven below ... don't worry, nothing was hot. He didn't burn his hands or anything.
Brad had off work on Friday so we had family day. I've been wanting real breakfast for ages now so we went to IHOP. It was pretty yummy. Before IHOP we went to Wal-Mart to do some shopping. We took Aiden home for a nap and then went back out after he woke up. We went to base to try and get a workout but that didn't happen. He didn't want to be there and was actually pretty hungry. We went to Brad's work so he could do a little work while I fed Aiden. We then stopped by the car lot to look at mini vans. We came home and fed Aiden dinner and then played with him for a while before he went to bed. Brad and I love the show 24 and we had to catch up on it last night. Man that is a good show.

Aiden is napping now and Brad is working on taxes. I will be grading on-line assignments after I finish this. It's a rainy day so we aren't planning on much today.

3/25 - Changing of the Guardian for Aiden

I have been asking all around and making phone call trying to find Aiden some new daycare. Yesterday a woman from church named Cindy watched him. He loved it because there were kids around and he was babied all day!!! Cindy watches over the nursery during Sunday school so she knows Aiden so it worked out well. Today Arin watched him for 1.5 hrs so I could go to the dentist and she will be watching him for the next 2.5 weeks!!

After the 2.5 weeks is up we have no idea what we are going to do. We have a few options we are exploring but part-time infant daycare is hard to come by. If I wanted to go back to work full-time, it would be slightly easier but still hard to find something good by 2.5 weeks. Please pray for us.

The picture above is from vacation and Aiden and Brad playing on the bed. Brad got a crash course in Aidens ability to grab things as he got into the dog bowl the other night and then pulled Brad's water glass off the coffee table. Brad is a quick learner though.

The picture below was taken about 2 weeks ago. When I go in to get Aiden from his naps this is usually what he is doing. He's trying to tear down the side of his crib by shaking it to death or playing with his mobile. He pulled pluto off of it today (although it easily attaches again). I need to get ready for work tomorrow and pack Aiden's bag.

Back from AZ

We are safely back from AZ. It was beautiful and we had a nice time but Brad is glad to be back home. Let's rewind a little since I didn't have much time for the blog out there. Our trip to the Grand Canyon was so fun. Aiden loved the backpack (see picture below). He loved being up high and able to see everything.
We drove to the canyon while he was sleeping in the morning (it was a 2 hr drive so he didn't sleep the whole time). We got out and hiked for about 1.5 hrs and then sat down and had some lunch. The picture below was taken after I finished feeding Aiden. We had a beautiful view!

After lunch we hiked some more until Aiden got really tired and feel asleep (see picture below). How cute. Aiden had lots of fun looking at all the other people there and smiling at them. The video below is the 1st swimming video. As you can see, he didn't like it at the beginning. By the end of the 15/20 min we were in the pool he was enjoying it. The water was a little cold which is probably one of the reasons he didn't like it too much.

We also went in the next day. He liked it a little more the second time. I think he'll get used to it and the warmer the water, the better (up to a point of course).

The last day we were in AZ we went to Pheonix and stayed with our friends Aaron and Casey and their 2 yr old son Colby. Colby was so cute and gentle with Aiden. That is Aiden playing with Colby's hair as he played rock band.
We went out to dinner which was really yummy. This is Aaron and Colby and Brad and Aiden leaving the restaurant. Aaron and Casey let us stay with them the last night there so we didn't have such a long drive to the airport. It was great to see them again (it had been a few years since we've seen them). Overall, we had a great trip. Our plane ride back went pretty smooth although it figures that when I have Brad to help, our trip home is only 4 hours (compare to 5 yrs out to PHX). It was great to have Brad to help out on the way back.

Brad went back to work this morning and I've been taking care of Aiden, putting stuff away, and doing lots of laundry. Aiden just ate lunch so now it's time to go to Wal-Mart to get some groceries.

3/20 - AZ Update

It's gonna be quick because it's approaching Aiden's bedtime and he is cranky and we are stealing internet from the closed library.

We went swimming yesterday and Aiden hated it a first. When we have more time we will post a really funny video of Aiden hating the pool.

Yesterday afternoon we walked around Uptown Sedona and took the picture above. It was really pretty.

We went to the grand canyon today. It was beautiful. Aiden fell asleep towards the end and I got a cute picture of that.

We will update more later when Aiden isn't cranky and we have a better connection. We are having a great time which is the most important thing.

3/19 - In AZ

This will be short because we are at the library and Aiden really needs to go take a nap. We are here safe. After Aiden naps and has lunch, we will take him to the pool for his first swim. It should be fun. I'll update more later but we are here safe, as a family, and it is gorgeous. Update later today with pictures or tomorrow at the latest. Tomorrow we are planning to go hiking in the grand canyon. We are all sick (Brad is getting better, Aiden is 3 days in, and I got sick last night). We are still trying to have fun though.
