4/28 - Still sick

This will be short because I need to go pick up Aiden. I took a half day today and came home and slept for a few hours today. I'm still very sick. My doctor called in some medicine last night that Brad went and picked up at 9pm and she just called to check on me. I go in tomorrow morning for my first shot and to get checked to make sure it's just a cold that I have (I started antibiotics last night). My head feels like it's about to pop because my sinuses are so stopped up. I tried this sinus clearing stuff the other night where you shoot water up one nostril and it comes out the other side. Not for me. I thought my ears were gonna pop. Aiden is doing much better (at least when I dropped him off this morning).
The above picture of Aiden's teeth. As you can see, he has three up top now! He's got one on the left and on two on the right. He's been busy getting those teeth in so hopefully things will slow down a bit for him.
The above picture is Aiden chilling on the doggy bed. He's loves Bronco's stuff. Below is a picture of Brad and Aiden playing Wii. Last night we had a friend over for dinner and they played Wii while I put Aiden to bed. Unfortunately, Brad doesn't play enough to be able to beat our friend yet. I'll have to take him on next time to see if I can beat him!!

Gotta go get my little man. He's so cute.

4/26 - Sunday lunch today & more teeth

Brad had to babyproof the cabinets the other day and Aiden thought he would help. Little did Aiden know that he would later hate what daddy was doing. Word to the wise (Jess): Babyproof cabinets BEFORE they know how to open them so they won't get to upset when you do it. Aiden is so upset now that we put safety latches on the cabinets. He tries to open the cabinets and cries now because he can't do it anymore. Aiden has really been wanting to drink like a big boy lately so we let him drink out of a real cup today with a little water. He was so proud of himself.

Aiden and I have been sick for a few days and Aiden is starting to get better (not so much for me). Today after church we went to our friends house and had a cookout. We had lots of fun. We took Aiden out on a blanket after we ate and played with him. He wouldn't go off the blanket at first (I'll post a video of that soon) but then got used to the grass. He had lots of fun playing with a beach ball.
Aiden has managed to rack up 5 teeth now, 2 within the last couple of days. He's got one more coming in. I just got a decent picture of all his top teeth coming in and will post that soon. With 3 teeth coming in at one time, he's been a little irritable lately.
The above picture is Brad walking Aiden around ... with only one hand. Aiden is going to take off any day now. I had to go ahead and post the video of Aiden not wanting to go off the blanket. It was too funny. He eventually got over it.

4/22 - A Great Day!

Yesterday Brad and I worked all day but we got to play with Aiden for a while when we got home. All of these pictures are from yesterday. The one above is in the kitchen. Aiden sits in there while I get dinner for him and the animals. After dinner I let him play (see picture below) while I clean up.
He's been getting a tooth in his upper right and it's really been bothering him. It's been the worst one so far! We've been drugging him up with Motrin, Orajel, and teething strips but he's still in lots of pain. He was running a fever of almost 101 yesterday morning. He's drooling all the time and everything goes in his mouth. He went up to the freezer the other day and dropped his paci and acted like a sucker fish on the fridge. It was so cute but sad he was in that much pain.

The picture above is from after we changed Aiden into this PJ's. The boys went out on the deck and layed in the hammock for a bit. After they played, they came in we practiced walking with Aiden. The past few nights we have been practicing with him. He walks everywhere with his walker or the laundry basket. He's got awesome balance and can actually stand for a while by himself. We also discovered the other day he can take a few steps by himself too ... BUT he doesn't trust himself yet. We are trying to show him he can do by making him take one or two steps by himself. He did it once and then I wanted to tape it. Aiden wanted the camera so he didn't walk like he was for us before but you can see he is getting there.

Today I visited with Arin and went to lunch with her and her baby girl (who she adopted 2 weeks ago) named Grace. Brad left work early and joined us!! It was great. Brad and I then drove to Waldorf to go to the Family Christian Bookstore. We got some books and I finally got a bible cover so I can stop tearing the tabs on it!! It was fun.

4/18 - New minivan

It's been a very busy past couple of days. Thursday I worked all day and then we had a function for Brad's work in the evening. On Friday, I shopped for baby shower stuff and Brad watched Aiden until 9:30am. The picture below is from when Brad was putting up the new baby gate. After I got home we put Aiden in the truck and went minivan shopping in Virginia.
Needless to say, we were successful. We got a 2008 Toyota Sienna with dual automatic sliding doors and an upgraded sound system and DVD player. It's pretty sweet. It's silver with grey interior. We got a great price which is even better!!

We got back late last night and went to bed. Aiden doesn't let us sleep past 6:30am anymore so that's when we got up today. We played around for a while and I started baking by 7:00am. The picture below was taken this morning after Aiden nursed. We had the baby shower this afternoo and then Brad got to go for a short motorcycle ride. We fed Aiden and then it was bath night. Below is a naked Aiden trying to escape with Bronco's collar. He loves Bronco's collars!!

Brad is playing softball and I'm reading for bible study, updating the blog, and watching NCAA Gymnastics event finals on-line. I need to read some more. Tomorrow should be another nice day. Brad and I went for a walk/jog today and am hoping to do the same tomorrow. We'll see.

4/14 - Some pictures from the past week or so

The picture above is from a little over a week ago when we had change of command dinner. The yellow shirt is not part of Brad's uniform but it was for a skit he was in ... we forgot to take a picture when we first got there. I borrowed a dress from the commanding officer's daughter since my 3 month belly didn't really want to fit in my dresses comfortably. If his hair looks a little grey it's because he has Gold Bond powder in it ... no need to ask why. Don't all men try to pepper their hair with powder?
The picture above was taken on Easter. Aiden was chilling on the couch wit Becky and eventually fell asleep in her arms. The video below is from last night. Aiden tried pasta for the 2nd time. I had him try is once about a month ago and he wasn't interested. I tried again last night and he just didn't like it. It didn't even have anything on it!!
The picture below we took last night after dinner. He loves this Hess truck and really loves playing with the wheels.
The video below is from tonight. Aiden doesn't normally laugh for me like this so it was neat that Brad could get it on film. Aiden is so cute and his laugh and smile are so infectious (in a good way).

Tomorrow morning at 8:30am Brad and I have to go to a doctor appointment to see my OB. We are discussing getting the progesterone shots to help prevent pre-term labor. We'll see how it goes.

4/12 - Happy Easter!

Yesterday was a pretty gross day so we went to Waldorf and went to Babies R Us and then the mall. At the mall we got Blizzards and then I got two new short outfits at Motherhood Maternity. It wasn't too exciting for Sarah but the rain prevented us from doing oustide stuff and there isn't much inside stuff to do in Southern Maryland. We then met up with two other couples and had dinner. It was fun. When we came home, we put Aiden down after a quick bath, and then introduced Sarah to Mariokart!! She was awesome at it. The picture above was taken last night before bedtime.
The picture above is from this morning. Aiden got an easter basket (and we got a big ole box of diapers at Babies R Us yesterday). It had a new sippy cup in it, some puffs, and some yogurt covered cheerios. He enjoyed it.

The picture above was from before church today. Aiden was carrying around his easter egg with him. The outfit he is wearing is from our German friends. He looked cute for easter. Brad and I had to work in the nursery today and there were alot of babies. In fact, we had to call in extra help because there were so many babies. I was surprised at how many people dropped off their babies even though there were only three of us in there and one woman can't get out of the rocking chair. We eventually had plenty of help but I would never have left Aiden if there was that ratio of babies to adults. Our friends Angie and Greg came to church today too so it was nice to see them.
The picture above is the group that was at our afternoon lunch at Clint and Alicia's. We had fun and there were lots of babies there ...3. Aiden used to be the only one!

The video below was taken today after we got home from lunch. Aiden has been learning to open and close doors. He is so cute but into EVERYTHING. I long for the days he couldn't do anything ... I also long for the days he can do everything.

4/10 - Sarah in town

It's been a long week and I'm so glad the weekend is here. I had a health fair on Thursday and it went great. I'm glad for it to be done. My friend, Sarah, came in to town this morning from Cleveland. We are excited she is here. The picture below was taken on Wednesday night (I think ... all the days are running together). Aiden has fallen in love with Pouncer and tries to follow him around everywhere. Pounce is hiding under Aiden's exersaucer. The picture below was also taken on Wednesday. We went to Wal-Mart to get some stuff and I found some eggs to make an easter basket for Aiden. He liked playing with them ... especially when I put stuff in them that makes noise.
Last night we got a package from Grandma and Grandpa Hoyt. It was an easter package. Aiden had fun opening the package (see the picture below).

Today Sarah and I went to base and had lunch with Brad and then waited around for a while so he could fly over us at the park. Aiden went in the swing for the first time and loved it. We waited a long while for Brad and then he couldn't fly over us as close as we were hoping because htey had an emergency and had to land. At least he was done for the day. We aren't sure what we are doing tomorrow ... it depends on the weather. Tonight we went to a local restaurant and had crab cakes (I had a hamburger). Until next time ....

4/7 - First day with Ms. Michel

Yesterday Aiden and I checked out the new babysitter, Ms. Michel (pronounced like Michelle). Aiden is crawling all over the house and getting into EVERYTHING. He's mostly crawling on all 4's now!! The above picture is from yesterday when Aiden was exploring a new corner of the dining room.
The video above was taken last night while I was trying to fold Aiden's laundry. Pouncer wanted to help and Aiden wanted to love on Pouncer. It was quite cute.

The pictures above and below are from tonight. Aiden was in his PJ's and we play around in the living room at night and read books. He loves to just crawl all over us at night.

The video below was taken tonight after Brad got home. He brought pizza home and was entertaining Aiden while I was talking to Jessica. Aiden decided he would use the laundry basket as a walking which is a great idea because he can walk around it and still go in the other direction. I would have never thought of using it. He's such a smart boy!!

Today was Aiden's first day with Ms. Michel. It went well and he did good. He likes being around other kids so I like that. He loves to just watch them and laugh at them. Tomorrow Aiden has to go to work with me for a bit. We are also going over to our friends house (Mike and Arin) to have dinner and hang out. It should be fun.

4/5 - Finally a post & a new tooth

In the picture above you can see Aiden's new tooth. It's HIS upper left tooth. It's been bothering him for a while and he's been chomping on everything lately. It came in on April 1st actually.
I had to work my regular day on Thurday and then got to shop at the consignment sale from 6-7 and then worked from 7-10 and got home about 10:45. I was exhausted but got some good stuff for Aiden. I spent $106 and got 8 outfits, 4 pair of pants, 2 shirts, 3 pairs of shoes, about a half dozen toys, 4 book, and 6 DVD's. The picture above was taken with Aiden being surrounded by all his new toys and clothes. He was having fun.
We went minivan shopping yesterday and there is a '07 Honda Odyssey that we are very interested in but we haven't gotten it yet. The dealership is almost 2 hrs away so we'll have to see. We drove the Honda and Toyota Sienna and they drove almost the same. They were both pretty nice. We aren't set on one or the other ... it will be what we can get the best deal on. Our only requirement is less than 45,000 miles and automatic doors. We'll keep you updated. The picture above was from the other night. It's hard to see from this angle because I'm above Aiden but he had his little but so high I don't know how that was comfortable.
It was such a beautiful day the other day. The picture above is Brad and Aiden (and Bronco) hanging out on the hammock on the porch. They were having fun and I was taking a break from Aiden who didn't want to nap on Friday and tried to make my life miserable.
The video below was from the other day when we were playing at home. Aiden is all over the place and crawling on all 4's for the most part. He's pulling himself up onto everything and learning to open drawers and cabinets. He crawling over to the sliding glass door and pulled himself up.

4/1 - Aiden's weigh in

Today we went to breastfeeding group and found out Aiden weighs 19 lbs, 10 oz. One month ago he weighed in at 19 lbs, 2 oz. His new weight puts him in about the 23rd percentile for weight for his age.

I took these pictures on Monday between a wadrobe change. He's such a generally happy baby. We are truly blessed and hope the next one in October is just as happy and fairly easy! No, you don't have to re-read that ... you read it correctly.

Aiden is all over the place and climbs up on everything and tries to open all the doors and drawers. We will continue to babyproof the house and hopefully continue to do that before Aiden hurts himself.

I have a very long day tomorrow because after work I go to the Leprechaun Lily Sale which is the baby consignment sale. I can shop from 6-7pm and then have to work from 7-10pm. I'll be shopping for clothes for Aiden for the next 6 months and maybe a Baby Einstein DVD or something. I wish I knew the gender of this baby but we won't find that out until May!
