5/18 - The special luncheon

Here are my flowers and chocolate strawberries from Mother's Day. It ended up, Brad ordered flowers and was charged for them but then was refunded a few days later without him ever being contacted. So ..... I have no idea who gave these to me but God knew how happy and thankful I would be!
They were beautiful and lasted for 1.5 weeks! I smiled every time I saw them.
Last Wednesday, my friend Stephanie, had a surprise luncheon. It was amazing. Look at the cool flowers she even made from tissue paper. There were candles out and we had a nice lunch. Stephanie and Meg were there and my BSF leader, Kim, and another member from our group, Stacey. It was just perfect.
Stephanie managed to get letters from my mom and Brad and read them to us. It was beautiful. There were cards from friends and a few books.
Here is my beautiful friend Stephanie. God has placed such an amazing person in my life and I'm so grateful. This woman has a heart of gold and filled with God's love. It's amazing to see.
Another amazing thing that Stephanie did was to give me some words of encouragement to take home. She contacted some of my friends on Facebook. She printed off responses on decorative paper and rolled them up and tied a ribbon around them.
I have opened just one so far. I'm trying to save them and open them when I really need an encouraging word.
Here's what I learned from this experience:
1. Stephanie has a huge heart (I already knew that though)
2. I have amazing friends and family
3. If people are capable of showing this much love, I can barely fathom how much love God has for me.

It's amazing how a kind word and/or a prayer can change someone's day!

  1. So you might think I am some crazy person but I had to comment on this post...I went to high school with Brad and have always thought he was such a nice guy!!! I want you to know that some crazy girl in Tennessee is praying for your family and if you ever get up this way, I would love to meet you in real life! :) My name is Tamara Cosby (I was Tammy Schlesinger in HS). I too am a Christian and realized later in life how much I wanted my life to represent something different than I was in high school. I know this is so random but I couldn't pass the opportunity to share how awesome I think you guys are and how awesome I think it is that you are so incredibly strong!!!! It's amazing!!!
