8/1 - Daytona Beach & saying bye

My little chunky monkey is doing well. He went to the doctor this week for a checkup and hasn't gained anything in the last almost 3 months. He was so far ahead of the curve earlier that he looks fine now although he's still slightly larger than Aiden at 10 months. He's been doing good although sometimes driving Aiden crazy by wanting to play with his toys. This devilish boy is too funny with the hall light. He knows he's not supposed to touch it. I have a video to post with it but I'll do it another day ... it's too late right now. I am posting of a video of Eli doing his first sign of "more." Pretty exciting for us.

We got some bad news a few days ago - Brad is leaving right before Christmas on his deployment for 7 months. Poop on that. I really wish the Navy could wait just a bit longer and let thousands of families spend that day together but some admirals who sit behind a desk and don't miss holidays decided against that. Anyway, we've just been trying to spend these last few days together as a family. That's been slightly difficult when Brad has had to fly on Wed and Thur night though.

Aiden has had fun lately playing around with the pillows and couch. He is building bridges and forts and is learning what is and is not allowed in the house. He's such a good little boy for the most part. Eli went to daycare for part of the day on Wednesday and I think Aiden loved being able to play and have mommy to himself.

Here is a short video of me playing with Eli and the laser pointer and Aiden joining in on the fun.

We were able to take the boys down to the pool a few days ago and they loved it as usual. Aiden loves to wonder around in the turtle (I know it doesn't look like in this picture) and Eli has no fear and crawls in water that goes above his head. He doesn't even choke on the water anymore. His lack of fear is starting to scare me. I wish it scared him too!
We've had an unfortunate incidence in the past few days - our air broke on Friday at 5:15pm. What horrible time (unless you own an air conditioning business and can charge crazy prices after hours). Someone finally got to our place at around 8 and figured out they couldn't fix it without a certain part at 9pm. It was about 87 degrees by then which is hot to us. The boys were sweating and we moved Eli to Aiden's room in the pack and play. Aiden happens to have the coolest room in the house. They boys stayed up about an hour after we put them down playing and talking to each other. It's too cute but also frustrating at times because they are super tired the next day.
The boys took a short nap (but at least it was a nap) in the car on the drive from Jax to Daytona. They both were asleep instantly they were to tired and slept for almost the whole 90 min ride. Once we got to the hotel, Aiden enjoyed a snack and Eli enjoyed my drink before we went down to the pool. Eli was actually multi-tasking and watching tv too. They enjoyed the pool although Eli would have done better if we had something for him to float around in.
We got dinner a little late and the boys went down immediately. We enjoyed the nice cold air conditioning all night!! The air conditioner company called this morning at 8:30am while we were at breakfast and we told him we couldn't be there until 11am. While I am glad he was eager to fix our air, I was kinda sad because we planned to go back to the pool after Eli took his morning nap.
We came home and the air conditioning company finally fixed our air (to a tune of $700). It was just in time for the boys to eat lunch and then take naps. God has really watched out over us during the air outage. There was just one room left in Daytona Beach and it was a 2 bedroom (what we need with the boys). Brad got to spend some time with the boys today which was good. Eli got a new tooth today so now he has a total of 6 teeth at 10.5 months. He loves food and he thinks he has 20 teeth already!
The following video was too funny. This was Aiden today at lunch. He hasn't fallen asleep at the table since he was about Eli's age. The poor little guy couldn't keep his eyes open. He opened his eyes wide enough to see the food and then he had them closed when he was eating.

Aiden is showing daddy the "We'll miss you card" he made. Too cute. Oh yeah. Aiden can count!! The other day we were all out in the living room and next thing you know, Aiden counts to 10 (although he left out 7). It was amazing!! We've been working up to number 3 or 4, sometimes 5. Man, I love his daycare.
Brad and I went out to dinner tonight and then to Target. He leaves tomorrow for 6 weeks. It's gonna be so hard without my best friend, awesome husband, and great father. We'll have to rely on the Lord for some extra strength and patience.
